i’m not as free as i seem to be.
i demand to be free:
i’m not as free as the world sees me.
i might be creator,
but my creation is dominator;
master of existence is the unexistent:
the abstraction of my actions.
every act has its effect,
every thought forces an impact.
we all have two faces,
we all have one soul –
the visage takes its toll.
a pretty face hides your rotten soul.
a wild youth shall hide the bearing you lose:
ethics turn aesthetics, it is out of control.
being young and being free are the things you confuse.
or not?
for the first time
i consider
being young being free
i wonder
what this makes of me?
every move i make, every step i take,
every word i say, this daring mind game:
brushstrokes on the picture of my soul.
brushstrokes on my soul.
if art is so much bigger than life,
the artful life is what i strive.
but maybe my soul should not be beautiful:
showing a toxic bloom, the picture could rot so soon.
